Niamh by Gary Hope is a bit emotional love story between Mark and Niamh,a widow and a mother of one whereby they are determined to find each other despite their unknown whereabouts to each other since they fell in love.

Mark McCarthy,an American is married to cunning wife and a cheater, which later leads to their separation after being purported dead by all who know him,he relocates to Ireland to start a new life after their marriage failed. He meets Niamh,in his new location thinking that she is a taxi driver and drops him to a cliff whereby they have their memorable time together only to come back to his senses when they have parted their ways, and they don't have any way to trace each other.

Their journey of finding each other starts, making so much effort. The distance between them would be so small but still too big to find each other for instance they would be in the same pub but without knowing. After some time, Marc arrived in a station only to see Niamh in the train that was leaving,Niamh shouts the name of where Marc would find her but he heard it wrongly. They started finding each other in different places which was the most difficult thing,Marc would go to where he heard and Niamh would go to where she said, one would do crazy things finding his or her lover until they almost gave up. They finally meet in a pub and got married on the spot.

Love at first sight and
then falling for each other head over heels is what this story is all about at first. But,after loosing each other after their first meeting, the journey kicks on with a lot of discouragement. Some scenes were emotional, also the book is hardly long so it was easy to bear and the language used was simple therefore easy to comprehend. I acknowledge the fact that there is very minimal profanity in the book.

Talking about editing, the book had very few grammatical mistakes,so my reading was not affected and definitely it was proffesionaly edited. I believe the author involved so many characters for example Desmond and Stella whom were not well developed making it hard to comprehend. The book was so plain to me,in that it wasn't attention capturing and didn't find suspense as I expected.

On the whole,I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars due to the several dislikes i had. I would recommend this book to lovers of romantic novels with very minimal erotic scenes, those above 16 years would not be badly off also.
