Review of Ark of the Apocalypse
The ark of the apocalypse by Tobin Marks is a completely and captivatingly new kind of science fiction, though its way more than just a science fiction because Tobin dived into the hearts of world rulers, the plots that go on during world problems and an interesting succession of a group of humans colonizing a new territory other than their home planet.
It carries us through tens of generation of people in thousands of years.
On a whole, the book is about generations of humans on a world whose natural resources gets depleted more as time passed by, there in their world was only hot scorching sun and dried up brooks, vegetations and rivers. Were they able to make their world livable again? It also shows a lot about political strive that occurs between the countries powering the world. Did the government of both countries care about its citizens enough to drop the hostility between them? It’s rather surprising that Tobin could insert political strive into a book on succession and environmental destruction, but from history, this actually can be obtained in real life depicting the fact that powers and government together with those with supernatural abilities are mostly selfish and will not care about human race should need for it arise. However, this book still saw the two world powers work together to build a space ship, Magellan ii that’ll ensure survival of human race even if earth gets destroyed which led to the general theme of the book which is the theme of humans colonizing a new planet.
The interesting thing about this book is that though there was a lot of selfishness depicted there, there are still a whole lot of people that gave their all to ensure humanity survived, one is the group of engineers that went out of safety to ensure power is generated for the clan saved by mother olga. Another is the team lead by the mayor on the Magellan ii to bring the eggs of the two dangerous kind of dragon to Nadya, the heroine to make Rodinya, a dragon with human intelligence who according to Nadya’s visions will save the human race.
Overall, the ark of the apocalypse is an extremely well written book with little or no typographic error because honestly, I didn’t notice any at all, the book also ended on grounds for a good sequel. Tobin did something great with this book, and I hope to see more of it.
This book has literarily no negative point, it was exceptionally well written in correct and beautifully formed sentences except for the fact that a person with little or no science knowledge may find it hard to follow.
I will rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars because honestly, even as a science loving person, I had to go back several times to re-read several pages. This might be relative to different people though.
I will recommend this book for anyone who loves a good book and loves science, anyone who loves a good science fiction will love this book. Anyone concerned with environmental problems like droughts, famine and all that will also enjoy this. Generally, I think ark of the apocalypse. is a good book worth your time.
