How to be successful: Think like a leader by M. Curtis McCoy is non-fiction based on stories of successful people and tips on how to achieve success. M. Curtis McCoy interviews a few people on success as a revelation to his readers. He also writes tips on success achievement. My favorite interview is the one with Caujuan Mayo. Cannot shake off the important information he shares. To find out more, go ahead and read this book.

There would have been a personal argument rising from an interview where the interviewee says that waking up early is one of the many steps to success. However, I agree with the statement. There was a training session that I attended and one of the topics being early rising. Many duties, chores, or even work need to be done in 24 hours. For some people, the time is little, so waking up early is the only solution, in consideration that some of those duties can only be performed during the day.

How to be successful is an interesting read especially to the lovers of motivation books and self-growth books. The book is enjoyable as it is not an everyday how-to book but has stories to aid the reader get the message the author is passing across. The stories contain truisms that are applied in normal day-to-day lives, which make the book even more relatable. Another fact that makes the book enjoyable, is that it probes and demands deep thoughts. It is a great conversation starter that can lead to deep and meaningful conversations.

Unfortunately, the stories majorly focus on the people who came from grass to grace, which is a cliché. The stories would be better if the author also interviewed a number of those born with silver spoons in their mouths and have had to maintain the wealth, in one way or another, without going down or with little struggle.

I rate the book as a 3 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited and motivated me. One star was deducted due to the grass to grace cliché.

I recommend the read to lovers of self-help and motivation books. It will get the lethargic ones out of bed and get them going. It is also good for continuous motivation. This book is also suitable for aspiring entrepreneurs and people with big dreams. The world is full of dream killers, but M. Curtis McCoy is among the few cheerleaders. It can be read by anybody, as it does not contain profanity.
