When the Elementals are attacked during one of their ceremonies, Salarin finds herself in the middle of this chaos injured and unable to regain her memory. She finds a baby and decides to protect it and find its parents. During her journey, she digs up and tries to find out what happened on the day of the attack.
Bosco, a raider who doesn't settle in one place, meets Salarin and decides to help her find the baby's parents, investigate the attack and maybe even find herself.

Rulers of the galaxy by Tayma Tameem is a very interesting book that emphasized the meaning of hope, friendship, love, loyalty and greed. Alongside a marvelous plot that discussed political conflicts by portraying it in the wars between the rulers of the planets, in a comprehensive detailed way that just caught my attention.

What I liked about the book is its lovable characters, like Salarin with her kind heart and courageous personality and Bosco with his sense of humor and sarcasm. I also liked how she wrote the evil characters, as she showed us their points of view alongside the points of view of the other main characters, so she showed us how they think and what they want to achieve, like the Hunter. The hunter has a complex destructive personality that I couldn’t quite grasp, but when I read his point of view I understood how his mind works. What I also liked about the book is how the mysteries were revealed in a way that shocked and amazed me, and how we got to see every aspect of the day the elementals were attacked through the eyes of the majority of the characters.

As much as I liked the plotline and the characters of the book, reading it gave me a hard time because of the author’s writing style, as it was quite tiresome and got a lot of unnecessary descriptions and scenes. Like the part where Daaken went to see his superiors, the author gave a lot of details about Daaken’s trip to his superiors’ base that, in my opinion as a reader, didn’t benefit the book in any way. What added up to my struggle while reading this book is its world-building, as a lot of places weren’t well described, especially in the first half of the book, like the city of Elventar. I tried to imagine the city but it was very hard due to its poor written description, as the author described Elventar from the outside, as a city with white large walls and when Salarin entered the city the author didn't describe how the city looked as a whole from the inside.

Taking everything into consideration, I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars. I didn't rate it higher because of the author's writing style and the poorly written word-building in the first half of the book.

I recommend this book to those who like science fiction, mystery and detailed action combats, but be aware of the brutal killing and violence that takes place in the book, as it can be triggering to some readers.

I was searching for a review about this book for so long, to decide whether to read it or not, this review was simple, straight to the point, informative and easy to read for non-native-english speakers. after reading this review I made up my mind to purchase it and not to set my expectations too high.

Thanks for the detailed review! I love sci-fi so it sounds like this book is right up my alley, but due to the negatives that you pointed out, I'll probably skip this one.
