[Following is a volunteer review of "Affirm The Word" by J. Marie Jones.]
Christian living is a subject that people tend to avoid, maybe because we often feel guilty of how we live our daily lives. But one thing that J.Marie Jones does is excellentlly put together how one can comfortably live a christian life and she also touches areas in our lives that daily concern us.For instance marriage, work and faith in God.
Affirm The Word is a book that calms you down and helps you pause for a minute and go,"maybe this isn't so bad afterall".This is because J.Marie Jones is seen throughout the book assisting christians on how to live by the word of God and she puts it so well. She does not judge anyone no matter where you come from or the kind of life you have lived.
The author is very honest and open about certain issues that most people would feel uncomfortable writing about which makes her very relatable to readers. She talks about divorce for instance.Because she is also divorced she puts in details how to go about the issue without feeling like you are doing something wrong. This is very helpful for christian readers who yes want to live a christian life but also want to evaluate every situation from a logic perspective.
The book is generally a great read because the author is very systematic on relating bible verses to the topic she is writing about so as to make it better to understand and make the reader know that there is an answer to life's situations and one can do it the christian way.
Christian living is a controversial subject but the author has put it in a way that all christians can relate, follow and understand. This is a book i highly recommend even for families.I give it 3 out of 4 stars.
