[Following is a volunteer review of "Underdog Thinking" by Atul Vir.]
Business success doesn't come easy. It's a journey that demands persistence, endurance and thinking. For Atul Vir, CEO and Founder of Equator Appliances, it was no exception. UNDERDOG THINKING-A Bold Idea, a Business Adventure and 101 lessons learned Along the way is a book about Atul Vir's journey as an entrepreneur.
With the hope of serving this as guideposts to aspiring entrepreneurs, the author shares his mistakes, successes and lessons. Having a successful career as a financial auditor in Africa, Nigeria, the country where Atul was stationed was hit by an unfortunate event that rendered him jobless. He decided to move to America to be with his family after the end of his adventurous career. Despite the education and experience in India, Africa and U.K, Atul failed to get a job in America. After weeks of frustrations searching for a job, the author decided to start his own business. Unaware of what to sell and the competition, he went ahead ready for uncertainities.
UNDERDOG THINKING is an interesting story full of valuable lessons. From his own experiences, the author tells how he navigated through challenges and what he learned. Out of the insecurity, the instability, rejection and betrayal the author faced, he draws lessons to help aspiring entrepreneurs when faced with the same. His lessons doesn't only apply to business but also to life as well. The author also comes off as kind and friendly.
There's nothing I dislike about the book. The book was well written and exceptionally edited. The author brings clearly the themes of Leadership, Global business, ethics and Innovation. I believe this book has great, valuable lessons for every reader. I also liked the quotes at the beginning of every chapter. The story was also fascinating and chronologically arranged making it easy to follow. With that, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to anyone who has interest business.
