Living Forward After Loss by Kathleen Ho.
Kathleen Ho shares her experience of losing a loved one. One-minute things can be going great but within a second everything changes and we are left feeling confused and lost. How then do we cope with these big changes brought about by the loss of a loved one? She focuses on the mechanisms that one can use to make things a little bit easier during these tough times. It is not easy losing someone who meant the whole world to us, each person has their own way of dealing with pain. To be able to move on with life, one has got to take one day at a time.

It is okay to take some time off to be sad and deal with grief your own way. We should not try to repress feelings of hurt and pain but instead, we should acknowledge them and learn ways to overcome the hard times. Kathleen shows us how we can survive these chaotic times and find ourselves once again.

I liked the different ways provided by the author on how we can deal with loss. We learn to heal our inner wounds through practising self-care, gratitude, patience and compassion. Another important life lesson highlighted in Living Forward After Loss is that we can’t fix the past but we can learn to be content and happy with the present day.

The only downside about the book is that the chapters have not been well explained in various sections and so there are some repetitions. I had a hard time connecting the chapters as there was a problem with the flow of ideas.

I rate this book a 3 out of 4 because even though I did not enjoy it that much I feel like there might be someone who will. I also found it too overwhelming in some chapters where it was mostly about David and the author's suicidal thoughts.

I would recommend this book for non-fiction lovers and people who are going through the painful process of pain and grief. This book will provide one with the starting steps towards healing.

It must have taken a lot of courage for the author to share her pain during this difficult time in her life. Hopefully this book will help others going through a similar experience. Thank you for your review! :balloon:
