[Following is a volunteer review of "The Reel Sisters" by Michelle Cummings.]
The Reel Sisters is a 400-page book by Michelle Cummings full of stirring happenings. Five friends: Rose, Sophie, Amanda, Veronica and Melody are held together by their love for fly fishing. Every last one in the group has something peculiar to offer to the rest. Rose being in her 60s is wise and the mother, nurturing figure to all of them. Also, she is the best fly fisher among all of them. Sophie is in her 40s and is the one to keep an eye on them. She is caring and is always bothered by their welfare. Veronica is in her early 40s and is a rich, confident city girl who is always ready to lend a helping hand to her friends.
Amanda is a mother and a teacher. At 23 years old, she is always exuberant despite her financial issues. Melody is your stereotypical introverted girl with numerous tattoos and piercings and has a passion for photography. Through their engaging friendship journey, in their highs and lows, I hope you learn a thing or two about true friendship.
I feel like their friendship is well built than usual friendships. They are more like soul-sisters. They are family. I was dazzled by how much they valued each other. They set aside time to talk and catch up even in their busy lives. During this time, they made their bond stronger. It was about love and patience. The biggest appeal in this book for me was women empowerment. As Veronica trains women on leadership skills, she is able to create a better world and women empowerment in this generation.
Rose acknowledges women's efforts in writing by naming her dog Dame Juliana after the first woman to publish a book in the 1400s. As you read this book you are able to get a better comprehension about the subject. It might excite you to know that I found nothing wrong in this book.
The Reel Sisters was a complete experience for me. I got to understand more about fly fishing. I will be sure to use some of the fly fishing skills in real life. The book was relaxing and thrilling at the same time. I gladly rate this book four out of four stars . Clearly, it was professionally proofread. It will be a good read for people who adore fly fishing. That way, they will be able to learn a little bit more about fly fishing.
