Review of Portals
Whenever an episode of unconsciousness befell Joe some unusual feelings filled Joe's mind as to where he was and how he should get out of the place that was uncomfortable and unrecognized. usually, there were writings written on portals from which Joe could choose to exit. Joe was able to exit from the first five tragedies when he walked towards the education portal. Thereafter the trend changed and the writings on the portals were different. However, Joe was always able to choose the correct pathway to exit. Jon D.Zimmer writes describing how Joe went through these nightmares bargaining for his earthly life.
At their early ages, Joe and Mary were intimate friends and they were all at school. Joe's love for football made him a celebrity winning trophies for his team, and himself a Heisman trophy twice. Joe was fortunate by birth for his parents could afford to educate him. On the contrary, some of his contemporaries were unfortunate that they could not afford the school dues. This angered Joe and he felt that free education was inevitable for his country and possibly to eradicate poverty. Mary was very supportive of Joe's causes. Joe's ultimate goal was to become a professor yet Mary a teacher. As time went on, Joe's plans included issues of climate change, a free health system, and fighting racism. All this came in the wake of the many tragedies that befell Joe like the shooting at the rally of black lives matter. Becoming a politician would be of advantage towards his goals.
Finally, Joe and Mary graduated, officially got married, and later had a child. Mary continued with teaching and Joe formed a podcast that was watched by millions. He joined the military service and served his country in Afghanistan. He later went for further studies and was awarded a Ph.D.He became a professor but to fulfill his dreams he joined elective politics and became a congressman, for two terms. He used this position to achieve free education but climate change was far from reach. To achieve this he advocated for stringent measures to put in action all the Paris accord agreements.
Climate change has become a contentious issue globally and for Joe to advocate for it, gives a positive approach to environmental issues. The situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo during their visit was appalling and left the congressmen wondering whether our leaders were really serious with the agreements signed in the Paris accord. Both people and animals were dying and people trekking from different walks of life looking for food for the famine had struck them. It is such a situation, that Joe came out and advocated for putting in action the Paris accord.
I do not support the idea of planting meat as Joe contends because it is believed that some ailments are a result of genetically modified foodstuff. I suggest we go natural but device ways and means of rearing animals using a small piece of land. The zero-grazing method of farming would be of great help here. Or even rearing animals that are managed on a small piece of land like Rabbits. Jon Zimmer illustrates how American Society has been infiltrated by armed gangs who go on, killing innocent people. When such insurgencies start happening in society a negative impact is felt on the people and development is hampered. One of Joe's causes was to fight against racism and extrajudicial killings that had infiltrated society.
portals is a nice book to read since it tackles essential issues about the environment and social issues affecting society. However, I found a few errors which need to correct. It is for this reason that I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.
There are some countries I know of which promote investors to build factories, in wetlands and discourage rice farming in the guise of industrialization. This looks ambiguous as industrialization in wetlands will mean reclaiming land thereby changing the ecosystem of the area in question. Moreover, where factories have been built in wetlands that area can not be retrieved yet if farming is being practiced in wetlands cultivation can be put on halt and the land retrieved to Its original environmental use. The groups of people I recommend this book are the policymakers the world over. Let them be at the forefront of enacting good laws that embrace good environmental practices.
