Rise Of the Savior tells the story of seventeen year old Amanda and her life changing experience. Amanda is just about done with her highschool, barely caring where she goes or how she grows. Her parents, Logan and Jean, are anxious and nervous about their daughter's impervious attitude. Amanda spends most of her days playing games or picking on her six year old sister, Saira. Until an accident changes everything, causing a rift to form in their normal lives. She meets and accepts the deity's power and becomes the acolyte of truth. She makes contact with an organization of acolytes to put her powers into better use.

Jamie is an excellent doctor who's saved many except the one person he wants to save the most: his son. Due to despair and grief at his own helplessness over his son's illness, he comes across a chance to change everything. He has to accept the help of the deity of death and become his acolyte. As a father, he vows to do whatever it takes to cure his son. Jamie uses his supernatural powers and delays the inevitable death of his only child but the kidnapped children are the ones paying the price. Amanda discovers the horror he's brought about and she vows to stop him.

Amanda is an optimist who sees an adventure in all she encounters. Her merry personality is a sharp contrast to her sister's. Merely six, Saira tends to be contemplative and realistic. She denies illogical beliefs without proof. They're like fire and water and I enjoyed reading their dialogues. Their little arguments and small oppositions were amusing and they got along better after some time. The characters went through quite a lot in a short time. I admire Saira's strength and Amanda's resolution to get stronger. Kid was essential to the girls' growth and Anna was most helpful with it.

On the other hand, Jamie was a decisive character. To save his son, he did all he could, portraying the right emotions of a parent who prioritizes their child above all else. His determination caused many harm as he took more innocent lives yet he never wavered. He also used his son's illness and his own helplessness to exploit his followers' sympathy and use it to his own advantage. He'd be the perfect villain. Antoine Bonner did an amazing job with his character.

There were few things I disliked in general. The story was fast-paced. I couldn't get used to the abrupt shifts of each character's mood or dialogue. The plot was engrossing and absorbing. I would've preferred to have read through more details, and more scenes involving everyday things or normal conversations. I rate the story 3 out of 4 stars. I recommend the book to action lovers as the book is packed with plenty of fight scenes.
