The FBI Inspector by Jay Dubya is a fiction novel. It consists of twenty-five short stories related to crime, crime motivation, and investigation. It is written from a third-person point of view and contains a descriptive writing style. Each story deals with crimes like robbery, terrorism, bombing, assassination, and many other crimes.

The story follows FBI Inspector Joe Giralo as he solves different crime cases. Joe Giralo is known to be a serious, workaholic, intelligent, and knowledgeable inspector. You will often find him riding his light grey Chevy Suburban with his three loyal FBI agents Sal Velardi, Art Orsi, and Dan Blachford while spreading his knowledge in a garrulous way. I personally liked the character of Sal Velardi the most; he is deductive, sarcastic, and most definitely funny.

I will admit I expected something else when I first decided to read the book but it provided me with something completely different and new, though not in a bad way. While I was expecting mystery and investigation, it gave me thriller and crime motivation. It came out to me as a completely new approach to the old detective stories.

The story had many positive aspects but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any negative aspects. Jay Dubya was spectacular in coming up with different puzzles and concepts for every short story but many times the stories contained unnecessary dialogues which neither reveal anything about the characters nor did it helped in progressing the story. The story was more focused on crimes therefore the characters were not fleshed out well.

Jay Dubya’s writing and vocabulary managed to amaze me; it was easy-to-understand yet full of complicated words which caused me to open my dictionary many times. The story is informative which also became the negative aspect of some particular short stories. While I am glad that the story provides me with information but when you don’t know about the information relevant to history which is being used in the story, it disrupts the constant pace of the story.

There were no typos, spelling errors, or grammatical errors in the stories as it suggests the book was professionally edited. The story does not contain profanity or instances of sexual content which makes it readable for all ages. But I would personally suggest this book to people above the age of 14 due to its high-level writing style and vocabulary.

I would rate The FBI Inspector 3 out of 4 stars because of its lack of suspense which is also what I liked least about this book. While the crimes were well fabricated but they lacked the suspense needed during the investigation of the crime. But I appreciate the author's dedication to the story which can be clearly seen in the writing.
