[Following is a volunteer review of "A Fate Unwound Too Soon" by anna-karen sorensen.]
A Fate Unwound Too Soon is a poetry book written by Anna-Karen Sorensen. This book contains numerous poems that have varying lengths and emotions. These poems have themes that centre on birth, love, death, and a lot more.
The Privilege to be part of the life experience of the premature baby is a gift to people fortunate to enter the baby’s life. The relationship they had with the premature infants gives as much as it takes, which end up intensifying the events of life as knowledge changes into understanding. The baby that comes too early is a form that holds contradiction, becoming a symbol of attention. Being so immature that the baby seems aged and serves as the carrier of the idea. They paused in awe as they looked upon it. The book was written to share what the author felt and learned as a caretaker of the tiniest of premature babies. She let out her emotions as she saw love and kindness between strangers.
Anna-Karen used simple words to pass her message within this poem. This allowed readers to have a feel of the author’s message and emotions. This made all the poems emotional in their way. The author used her words to create lovely rhythms within the poems provided, which brings out the beauty in each of the poems. She also provided various pictures that allow the readers to relate to the emotion behind her words. The pictures provided were different in contents and emotions, and they match the words of the poems. The poem titled “Womb-Mates” really got to me and my emotions. The poem talked about the relationship that exists between the unborn child and the mother during pregnancy. The author shared the pain and the emotion of the mother who goes through numerous situations just to make sure the child is born healthy. The child is felt like a burden during pregnancy, but the mother feels the vacuum just after the delivery. I felt all the emotions behind the words of the author in this poem. All these made me enjoy this book.
I hate nothing in this book, as it is well written. The poems leave the reader in various states of emotion. Some poems make you want to shed tears, some make you sad, and some bring happiness.
The book was also professionally edited with no errors noticed. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the above-stated reasons. I will recommend this book to lovers of poetry books with varying themes and emotions.
