What promises to be an exciting Saturday morning exploratory outing into Pandora's cave turns into a nightmare for three teachers and three minors. The three teachers, Chris, Antony, Dr Parrish and three minors, Jon, Kelly and Travis are deep in the cave, when an earthquake strikes and dashes their hopes for an adventurous weekend.

The earthquake alters the formation of the cave and as if that is not enough, they encounter fierce demonic creatures, who go on to capture Chris, Antony and Jon. Kelly, Travis and Dr Parrish manage to escape and exit the cave. Once outside the cave and with the help of park rangers, they organize a rescue party to go and retrieve the captured trio. The rescue operation is a success but both the rescued and the rescuers are affected and appear to be demon possessed.

DOOMSDAY BY R.L.GEMMILL is fascinating read that transports you into Kelly's world of make-believe as Kelly seemed somehow to have offended the demons in Pandora's cave, as the demons make several attempts to kidnap her. The book also takes you into the world of Jon who has been impacted by the demons, with a skill to be a top magician. Chris was also impacted with a mission to invent a special drink that will enable him to rake in millions in dollars.

However I have two issues concerning the book. Firstly the initial chapters of the book describe how the biological parents of Jon, Kelly and Travis were killed in traffic accident. In my opinion this incident does not seem to have any relevance to the rest of the story. The second issue I observed is about Jon who went to New York to be the world's greatest magician. The book is silent on Jon's exploits in New York.

I found the book to be well edited. I did not encounter any profane language and I did not come across any scenes of sexual nature. I recommend the book suitable for young adults. I also rate the book 3 stars out of 4 stars.
