M. Curtis McCoy is an influential author. In his book, How To Be Successful, Curtis talks about his journey to success. He had very little in his life earlier and dealt with serious health issues like diabetes and a brain tumor at a very young age. But that did not stop him from pursuing his dreams. Even with very few resources, he never failed to look on the bright side of things and constantly work on improving any situation that he was in. This is what he talks about in his book.

How To Be Successful is a highly optimistic book. It is well written, logical, and really inspirational. Reading about Curtis’s journey is motivating and it tells us that becoming successful is not something that God gifts us at birth. He puts forth his ideas about success in a positive way. The positive aspects of this book do not end here. The author has not limited the contents of this book only to his learnings and journey, but he has also incorporated the stories of many other successful people who succeed in motivating the reader.

Personally, I did not find a single negative aspect of this book. It is concise and yet, full of meaningful learnings. It is also quite well edited. Curtis has written about what becoming successful has taught him along the way, but at no point in the book does he come across as preachy to the reader. Which is a remarkable point of his writing style.

Based on all of the points I have mentioned above, I would gladly rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is a great book and there is nothing that I could find in the book that would contribute to taking away stars from it. This book has everything from the author’s experiences, the hardships that he faced along his way, what lessons he learned throughout, as well as multiple first-person accounts of the path to success of other influential people.

I believe that this book should be read by every person in the world. It talks about some important aspects of life and development. No one should miss out on those. No matter the age of the reader, they will surely have something to take away from his writing. Even children have something to learn from the optimistic nature of the author even when he faced hardships in his childhood. This book will help shape the reader’s thinking and improve their outlook on life.
