I had the great privilege to get to read this exceptional book. Because I am a lover of fantasy I chose this title as it seemed to call to me. Was I in for a nice surprise!! It started out with Oren and his dog, (by the way, I loved the dog), and I thought at first, ok give it time. The first chapter basically did not really hold my attention, as I was still trying to get a feel for the story.

Then the second chapter started and I began to take notice. So what started out quite regularly suddenly turned into a epic tale as old as the mountains!! You are transported to the mountain kingdom of Santa Klaus, yes, you heard me correctly, the jolly old guy with the red suit etc..

It seems that Santa has been having some troubles with a local warlord and his mountain refuge is under threat. Enters the mysterious lady that Oren met in the local pub and she tells him that they must travel to a new location in the north. After much going on Santa accepts and off they go with all their people on this epic adventure.

They meet all sorts of obstacles on their way, enter a warlord's territory and are basically held hostage, but then are rescued and there they are on their way again. You also get to meet other characters that will join the storyline at a later stage from all walks of life. Then tragedy happens when they are crossing the ocean at Dover and a freak storm wreaks havoc on this group of travelers and Oren are lost at sea and presumed dead. His dog survived though and that was well thought through.

So the hardy group of travelers are then flown, yes, flown by magic to the frozen North. There they are subjected to the bitter cold, worried about supplies and firewood to keep warm. But yet again the unexpected happens and they succeed in settling in their new home. I can not go into to much detail as I don't want to spoil the story. This was a epic tale of heroism, greed, war, and loyalty. There is no vulgarity or religious content in this book and I believe it is suitable for any age group. I strongly suggest this book if you really just want to chill out and forget about your everyday struggles and dramas. Go read it!! I give this a 4 out of 4 stars rating!!
