Great enterprises at the startup involves a lot of ventures by the entrepreneur who only knows what he wants but doesn't know really how to go about it, and when they choose to stand out, it becomes a lot more difficult. Many startups fail, even those with great ideas, because it takes more than just the idea to be successful.

Brand Real by Vasken Kalayjian is a book that put together information from experiences of the author and some others with success stories in the world of business. It is very expository and detailed, the book uncovers secrets that might be ignored or paid less attention to by people who are driven by their passion to start up a business, but do not have any real plan to achieve that. The author describes how they can create their identity, values and culture, plan and develop their ideas into something tangible and relevant. The book is a step by step guide from being a startup entrepreneur to a successful one. The book outlines principles such as realism, values, innovation, creativity, constant learning and flexibility as crucial factors in starting up and managing successful businesses. It also proves to anyone that entrepreneurs without knowledge will have the outcome of their startup left to chance.

I'm not into any business or thinking of starting up something at the moment, but reading this book inspires me and keeps my thinking inclined, I won't be afraid to take that bold step to become an entrepreneur because this book contains enough for me to venture into anything, the author thoroughly dissect the ins and outs of business planning. The author also included other topics, in addition to branding, that could further help entrepreneurs as they grow their businesses. The images and illustrations used made the points clearer and I particularly enjoyed that aspect.

The takeaways, exercises and the appendices made the book more like a study manual than just any piece of writing and of course the contributions from CEOs, experts, successful businesspersons gives the book the feel that it needs to build up your confidence in what is achievable.

There were a number of errors with punctuation, misspellings, missing and mixed up words however, there is nothing I dislike about the book.

For the reason stated above, the book cannot have a perfect rating, otherwise it is good to go, so I give it 3 out of four stars.

It is clear that this book is for entrepreneurs, would be entrepreneurs, young people with dreams. It enlightens readers on what is real about starting up businesses. For success and sustained progress in business, constant learning and willingness to upgrade oneself and take up new things are great skills. This book is recommended to anyone with business interests.
