Review of Black Soul Eater

[Following is a volunteer review of "Black Soul Eater" by Bryan Nyaude.]
Black Soul Eater is the third installment in the Legacies of Monsters series. This electrifying book is filled with horrifying creatures, ghouls and dark magic that creates a beautiful fantasy that a reader can live in.
The story commences with Rave, who is the leading character in the story. He is an immortal soul eater who embarks on a quest to the City of Ore to recover the legendary book that is said to have great power. Along the journey, Rave is faced with creatures of the dark; monsters, witches and ghouls. As Rave sets out to find the book, he discovers new things about himself that makes the story develop in a unique way. Rave begins to realize that he has a chance to feel emotions of love and happiness. Will this be possible? This book moves at a fast pace and focuses on minimal characters, that all contribute the development of story. Rave, Anna, Shovan and the Lycole Family are the main characters that play pivotal roles in shaping the story. It was not difficult to follow the story because it was a very simple yet unique has a plot to follow. Rave, the soul eater ventures to the end of the galaxy in search of the legendary book, he finds himself caught in a battle for survival against terrifying creatures. Rave is faced with decisions that will change his future forever.
I loved the fact that this was an action-packed novel and it was exciting. I enjoyed the way the author composed Rave’s character. He is mix of both good and bad intentions and as you read the story you begin to learn more about him. I enjoyed the way that the author did not exaggerate scenes in the book as this helps create a more realistic story. Bryan Nyaude composed a beautiful story and centers it on Rave who trying to find the ancient book whilst dealing with emotions he could have. I found it astonishing that despite being a soul eater, it was visible to see how the ray of humanity grows within him.
I did feel the book could have been edited better. There were several errors that I had picked up. I rate the book 2 out of 4 stars. The story of the book is worth so much more however the editing quality was dissatisfying. I would have preferred if the story was not rushed because it was a compelling read. There was no explicit scenes or sexual reference in the story. I would recommend this book to young adults or to anyone that enjoys novels filled with dark creatures, magic and potions.
