Pandora’s Eyes: Edition 2 (The Alex Cave Series Book 5) by James M. Corkill
Alex Cave is thrown into another adventure where his wits and determination is put to the test, but this time not only is his life on the line but so is the fate of Earth. When recent strange weather begins to happen all over Earth Alex, along with his friends and enemies, must learn how to use the mysterious devices that were discovered on Earth before the world is torn apart. That isn’t the only thing that they have to contend with, recent earthquakes have also brought something out of the depths of the Arctic. Will Alex and his team be able to figure out how to stop the crazy weather patterns or will the Earth be no more?
Now to the pros. There was a lot that I liked about this book but I did narrow it down to help readers enjoy it as much as I did. The pacing of the book was very well done, a nice fast pace book. The characters (and there were a good amount) were done very well so that each time a character spoke you knew who was speaking. Being a fast pace book James M. Corkill didn’t mess around with world building, this made it nice for the imagination to form your own world. You don’t see that a lot in books these days.
Now for the cons. Being that it was a fast pace book at times it did feel like it was too fast. That is all there wasn’t much that I didn’t enjoy about this book. Even being the 5th book in the series (I didn’t read the first four) I was still able to enjoy it a lot and keep up with the story.
My rating for this book would be a solid 4/4 rating. I’m very happy with this book. This book is a multiple prospective story that doesn’t disappoint. It is the fifth book in the series but the first book that I read and now I want to know the rest of the story. At times I did get confused by who or what something was, but there were one or two sentences that explained it. There were times that characters made me mad but I feel that that is great writing when you can invoke different emotions from the reader.
The recommended audience would range from young adult to adult. Taking into mind that there is mild cursing. The cursing isn’t so much that it takes away from the story (usually being used in high stress situations). I believe this range of readers would enjoy this world of James M. Corkill’s just as much as I did. However, I would start with the first book to learn the backstory.
