Have you ever wondered what it is like to have or struggle with a mental illness? The mania mixed with the depressive state whilst trying to live a "normal" life?

422 by Danny Range. gives you a glimpse into the world of mental illness and addiction what it takes to sometimes escape through your addictions to survive another day when everything seems like it is falling apart.

Bruno Marchesi left his hometown with his family's support to see him succeed and finally break free from a life of crime to live the life he had always wanted, that they envisioned for him.

Bruno, with his mind, made set out to change his life, studying and working hard towards his goals managing to leave his past behind to pursue his dreams.

He needed to make a life for himself away from the past to escape the life of crime he grew up around.

After five years he could finally see everything falling into place, the car, the new job he just miraculously landed with his age and experience but was it all that he had envisioned? Was it all that it seemed to be?

With his mental illness on the downclimb and his addictive tendencies creeping in, could Bruno finally break free? Would he throw everything he worked so hard for away? Or would he go back to what he knew?

I am rating this book 3 out of 4 stars. as I enjoyed the book.

At times I did not enjoy the use of language by the author but found it fit into the character's persona.

I was intrigued by the author's perspective on mental illness and addiction. The constant daily battles and the "demons" one must face to make it through another day.

It is not an easy topic to discuss or write about however, I thought that 422 by Danny Range. was a good read and would interest others with a small glimpse into the "corrupted" mind and how people struggle daily with their mental illness and addictions. The mania, depressive and suicidal states that one must learn to deal with on their own.

It is possible to succeed and live a "normal" life. You just need to surround yourself with positivity, love, support, and the courage to keep going even when everything else around you feels like it is falling apart at times. We are never alone.
