Barbra Streisand: On the Couch by Alma H. Bond, PhD is a work of non fiction. This book is a collection of written Barbara Streisand’s visits to a psychoanalyst. Barbara Streisand is a famous singer, filmmaker, etc...; she is well known as a forever young woman.

All along with this book, Barbara will share her priceless educative stories with her psychiatrist. She will go upside every little aspect of her life, from her difficult childhood to her difficult adulthood. It’s important to mention that Barbara had a very difficult childhood; this fact has played a major role in her life. Barbara had an emotionally abusive mother which was oppressing her in terms of self-respect and in other areas. Also, at some period in time, Barbara had lost her dad which caused her depressive state to develop even more. Later on, she will talk about the difficulties that she had faced in her career and she will give a certain inside on the Hollywood superstar manufacturing. She will also give us some insides from her personal life such as marriage, love, and motherhood.

I really liked the language of this book; it is written in a very humorous manner. This little fact was really keeping me reading this book. I liked a lot the fact that these books give so much great advice. I really liked the part of the book where Barbara speaks about her childhood; I find this part very educative; it was really touching to read. And it is really interesting to listen to the biography of such a brave and interesting person.

I only didn’t like the fact that Barbara’s psychiatrist doesn’t go deeper into her life; besides that, the book is pretty good.

I’ve found only one minor error. The book is very well edited. The misspellings weren't almost entirely absent.

I give this book a 4 out of 4. It is a really well-written piece of literature; I rate it that high because I haven’t found many grammatical errors in it and in general the content that this book offers is very educative and interesting. I would recommend this book to those who are interested in Barbara Streisand’s past, and who wish to know how do people deal with family problems. It’s also important to mention that this book has a little bit of vulgarity in it which wasn’t at all disrupting for me personally.
