Last words from above (Medicine for the Spirit) by Jeremy Brown is a collection of religious and life quotes which the author believes to be attained from a complete spirituality. It is a book of non – fiction genre, where everything is written utterly from his life experiences through journalism and meditation. The book contains an introductory part where he shares his journey on the wonderful revelation of this knowledge from the heavenly voices.

Mr. Brown indicates about “formula forty” which helps in betterment of oneself and their habits. Followed by the introduction, the erudite quotes are brought in. The book contains a unique blueprint, of numbering every quote continuously, and do not have separate contents under different chapters, which I would say is a great idea to follow up the preferred quote easily, whenever required.
Albeit, this book contains a Christian religious baseline, one could attain vast knowledge about life in general. There were quotes like,“ The sad thing about pursuing an unhealthy illusion is that you don’t even realize that it is unhealthy until you either obtain what you have been chasing or accept that fact that your time limit to obtain it has expired” which I really enjoyed reading, and also helped me learn a lot about myself and my life. The entire format of this book made reading much easier and helped me gain new facts and attributes.

Since this book is completely a set of motivation and improvement for our lifestyle, I didn’t have any kind of negative aspect, while reading. But I personally felt people practicing or having religious beliefs other than Christianity, or atheists, might disagree with few contents presented in this book.

I would rate this book three out of four. The errors were so minimal, and I loved the way it was formatted in a neat alignment. However, I rated three because it’s good enough to keep the Christian readers engaged. But it has chances to disinterest other audiences, since there were mentions of religious God more often. Yet, it has a lot of content which everyone could learn from, and involve in the aspects of how we could overcome every hurdle that life puts us through.

I recommend this book to everyone, from all age categories, who would love to gain wisdom. So, for the people who need a bit of inspiration and motivation in life, this book is definitely a thumbs up.
