There is a lot of waste being produced in the world today. With the advancement of technology there is an increase in toxic waste. The original coexistence that was experienced in the natural environment has been interfered with. The interactions that determined the abundance and distribution of living organisms has also been tampered with. The Redesigned Earth by John T. Tanacredi has fully elaborated the habits that destroy the earth's natural environment and how we can restore it to stop the destruction.
The author has defined the different aspects of physics and thermodynamic that deals with energy. This gives the reader the foundation on energy and how it can be transformed into different forms. If you are interested in getting to know the different forms of energy then dare and read this book. The methods of determining different species population as per ecologists has also been defined. From the population preservation of endangered species can be determined. The book has elaborated the different perspectives of species preservation. The author has also expounded on biodiversity and its importance. Have you ever imagined a world with no colour? or with one kind of being? What would it be like? The factors that contribute to the extinction of species has also been discussed.
When we look around us most especially in the third world countries not much is done about the environment. The amount of pollution produced is enormous. There is no proper waste disposal measures. The amount of toxic compound in the environment is suffocating. This book shows the influence of toxic compound to the environment. The author has also shown us the way evolution has been used in elimination of genetics. The food chain has been defined. Corruption and its effect on the fight against destruction of environment has also been talked about. From the book many can learn the different aspects of the environment and how each and everything one does affects the environment. The environmental laws are also elaborated here.
This was a good read since I love to learn more about the conservation of the environment. From this read I have been able to comprehend the different aspects of environmental degradation, it's impact, ways to prevent them and how to restore. The fact that the author introduced himself first was friendly. The use of drawings and graphs to illustrate different ideas made it easy to learn and understand different subjects. The book was well researched with different case studies to showcase the ideology portrayed. The one thing that I didn't like was the long introduction.
I would rate this book 3 out of 4 since it was well written and edited. I would recommend this book to students pursuing environmental studies or ecology and even engineering. This book can also be read by people facinated by their environment.
