Snow Country Lane by Sarah Vail is an intriguing story and revolves around a child trafficking ring. The handsome Tim Mc Andrews is an assistant DA in Kings County, Washington. Tim has recently got married to the beautiful and wealthy Daniela St. Clair. A serial killer broke into their penthouse in the middle of the night. The killer lunges at them with a knife, and Tim shoots him dead in self-defence. Tim is now forced to take four weeks unpaid leave. Tim is packing up his apartment as he is moving into Daniela's penthouse. While he is waiting for the removal company to arrive, his old friend Kathy pops in and tells him she needs his help on a very upsetting and brutal murder of six year old twin boys. Tim does not want to get involved as he and Daniela are going on a skiing holiday. Tim, Daniela, Kathy and Scott board Daniela's private jet, on their way to their skiing holiday. They will all be staying at Daniela's holiday cabin. Daniela's neighbour is Senator Buddy Shearer, who is hoping to run for President in a few years time. Bebe Knoll is a reporter and is madly in love with Tim, but he does not know this. She stalks him at every opportunity and has now found out where Tim and his wife have gone, and she follows them.

They start their holiday having fun with snow mobiles, until a little girl named Chloe is abducted in front of them. Tim and Scott gave chase and manage to rescue the little girl, but the abductor gets away. Certain evidence they find is similar to the twins case. Tim now feels he has to get involved in the case. Too many children are getting abducted, and it appears they are linked to one another. The FBI gets involved and Tim is there to assist them. An old friend of Daniela's is Miguel, he is also one of Senator Shearer's security guards and helps on the case. Things come to a head when Senator Shearer hosts an Equinox party at his home and the President will be attending. Tim finds himself in trouble for snooping around. Then all hell breaks loose, and many lives are in danger.

This is an extremely exciting read mixed with love and intrigue. I found the story very well written and thought out. The editing was very good. There was nothing I did not enjoy about the book.

I give this book a well deserved 4 out of 4 stars.

This book is suited to adult readers. Readers who are sensitive to child abuse should be cautioned as some accounts of these children are very graphic in description.
