[Following is a volunteer review of "Snow Country Lane" by Sarah Vail.]
Snow Country Lane is an amazing and exciting mystery/suspense novel by Sarah Vail. The novel shows the worlds of child trafficking and how they are chosen and operate.
The story is about Tim McAndrews, an assistant prosecutor working at the District Attorney's office. He is on 4 weeks’ leave without pay after he shot and killed a serial killer due to self-defense when he attacked his house and wanted to attack the love of his life, Dani. Tim is worried about his job but he has been offered a job by FBI profiler Elias Cain, to weigh down his option he goes on a ski vacation with his wife and friends to mountain ski resorts. A short ski vacation turns into a rescue mission for a little girl who was abducted in front of the resort.
I liked the novel, it revealed the real and cold-blooded people who will do anything to become rich. It is relevant to today’s world. It is always people who are in power who are behind this operation and due to their greed, they do the unspeakable. I liked the author’s creativity, and how she described how they ordered the children, and what they used them for.
I did not hate anything in this book, it was perfect for me even though the author described the protagonist as a perfect man, he is a handsome, and good-hearted man who married the rich woman he loves and avoided all the temptation that was thrown in his way. I felt like Sarah Vail exaggerated a little bit, but she also was able to prove that no matter how perfect you are the is not a thing that can prevent you from shielding your loved one even if that means killing. I liked Tim's relationship with his wife.
The book is professionally edited, I have found only one typo error. I will rate Snow Country Lane 4 out of 4 stars for all the reasons I have mentioned above.
I will recommend this book to people who love reading books about detectives and mystery because it evolves the FBI, crime, drugs, and investigation, or someone interested in taking a police course or something similar it can be useful to them. Snow Country Lane contains some scenes which may not be suitable for youngsters. The book contains some love scenes, but they are lightly described and it does not badly affect anyone’s religion.
