[Following is a volunteer review of "Dreams Are To Be Lived" by Jerry A. Greenberg.]
The Leveret family looked like a perfect family with a 16 year old Bobby who is constantly trying to convince his father regarding joining of an art college post school, whereas his father was against it considering his future as an artist is going to be really tough. On the other hand, Cindy is trying his best to maintain a light environment in the house with her constant small talks. Bobby who has recently being introduced to sex but being focused towards his dream becomes a bit anxious regarding it and pushes his father to the edge but realises that somehow he had instigated a series of events from his father's dreadful past leading him to have a nervous break down.
During his father's treatment Bobby not only supports his mother as a responsible person but also investigated about his father's past and discoverer a lot of hidden information which startles him.But being unable to get his father completely recovered he becomes his victim and his father gets shot by the police.
Dreams are to be Lived is youth fantasy Novel written by Jerry A.Greenberg ; the book is full of adventure, suspense, thriller and drama & is exceptionally well editted. It has also justified its title Dreams are to be lived throughout the book. I loved the way how author presented Bobby's determination and his approach to achieve his dreams. My favourite part in the book is how Bobby became responsible and hepled his mother during his father's hospital stay.I also liked how gradually the layers were removed from Alfred leveret's (Bobby's father) past increasing the suspense at every step.
The book could have contained some parts of Bobby's school life as well increasing the drama content and attracting school going kids as the could link themselves a little. The part which I disliked was the submissive character of Cindy (Bobby's mother).
I am giving Dreams are to be Lived 3 out of 4 stars. As there could have been more drama content. Overall, the book is an enjoyable and captivating. At the the same time gives you goosebumps at some points.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read adventure and suspense books and also like novels which do not lead towards waiting for the next book in the series, specially to growing adults who like mystery books and wish to read a single book novel.
