Tim is a prosecutor who recently got married to a woman called Dani. He's suspended from work after shooting a man in self-defence, who invaded their home and planned on killing them. Tim decides to go on a skiing holiday with Dani and their friends, Kathy and Scott.

During the holiday, Tim, and his friends witness a young girl being kidnapped. He teams up with the FBI to investigate the kidnappings that have been going on, and to try to save the victims.

I really enjoyed Snow Country Lane by Sarah Vail. It was captivating and very tense, and I desperately wanted the children to be found. Some of the different perspectives were interesting; in the opening chapter it was from the kidnapper's point of view, and I really wanted him to get caught. The opening was very tense and hooked me into the story. I loved the characters and their relationships with each other, especially Dani and Tim. I enjoyed the romance aspects to the book as well. The action within the story was gripping, and I was always hoping the children would be found. The descriptions within the book created clear pictures in my mind, and I enjoyed reading them.

There aren't many negatives to this book; however, I didn't like some of the perspectives as much as others. I found the fourth chapter quite dull as it wasn't from Tim's perspective, and it introduced other characters who I didn't care too much about. I may have enjoyed the book more if some perspectives were taken out of the book. The subject matter was also quite disturbing at times because it described children being tortured, and I found that quite upsetting to read.

I would give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars because it was a very tense and engaging book. I liked the characters, and the descriptions throughout the book were good. The plot was gripping, and I found myself wanting to keep reading once a chapter ended. I believe that this book was professionally edited. However, I can't give it 4 stars because of the points mentioned above.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime, thriller, and suspense books. I would recommend this book for adults, since the themes are dark and for a more mature audience, and there is swearing and sexual content in this book. There was a bit of romance in the book, which may appeal to fans of the genre.
