Review of Last Words from Above
Last Words from Above: Medicine for the Spirit is a non-fiction book written by Jeremy Brown. It is one of the motivational and inspirational books comprising 2001 quotes highlighting the different aspects of life, including love, patience, beliefs, morality, sadness, disappointments, evil, and goodness. While reading the book, the reader can anticipate that the quotes are classified into two categories; one emphasizing the relationship between God and man while the other emphasizing the relationship between man and man. These quotes in this book have the power to hypnotize you and take your mind and heart towards the path of new opportunities, guiding you to accomplish the buried dreams.
According to the author, the only goal in his life is to practice listening and motivate others to do the same. Practicing this goal led him to hear the voice of God. The voice of God inspired him to write into his journal, whatever he heard. Therefore, the collection and compilation of the quotes developed into the book.
The aspect of the book that I liked was the inspirational quotes. The author has used beautiful but uncomplicated words to deliver the quotes that helped me understand and relate accordingly. I liked how the author put forward a mixture of writings related to different aspects of life and not just talked about God or man specifically. Furthermore, the best thing about this book is the background story of the author that inspired me. I disliked the writing style of the author for the reason that the quotes were not categorized accordingly. While reading, I failed to maintain my focus. There are multiple grammatical errors and spelling mistakes that created a distraction for me while reading the book. Hence, the book needs to be edit by a professional.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars since the author did amazing work, motivating the readers. Also, he used beautiful words that would surely inspire the readers. I did not rate it 4 stars because the book lacks skillful editing, and grammatical errors will be creating disturbance for the readers. Hence, due to this reason, the readers might lose interest. I did not rate it 2 stars because there is no use of profanity and the absence of descriptive erotic scenarios.
I would recommend this book, especially to Christian readers. The book has many quotes that are related to Christianity, making it a better understanding. Moreover, I would recommend this book to all the readers belonging to any religion and culture if such readers are open to gain new knowledge.
