The lands of the princes used to be peaceful. Absolutely peaceful until the princes got greedy and overly ambitious. The aftermath of this greed and excessive ambitions resulted in so many years of civil wars and unrest.

Unfortunately, Galen had been born during the time of these wars among the lands of princes. Galen had known no peace but only wars until he decided he had to take his destiny into his own hands. He had to run. He had to run far away from his birth land. Luckily, he left for Magnum Caelum, a small town in Voulhire. At Magnum Caelum, his late uncle had left him some properties and a good fortune. But he thought he had to make his late uncle proud. He had to continue his uncle's legacy as a blacksmith. Galen's life had set on smoothly until he got wind of the invasion of Riva Rohiva, a deadly warrior group that had been a threat to Voulhire for many years. Will Galen survive this invasion after barely surviving from his war-torn country?

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tsyz is a unique, fascinating novel that instantly grabbed my attention right from the start of the story to the very end. It is the first book of the series called; We are Voulhire. It was not written as the traditional novels where each chapter would be introduced by numbers. Rather, each chapter depicts each character's perspective in the story. The characters' developments were amazingly structured. Despite the introduction of numerous characters, you can easily navigate through the thoughts of each character. Galen's perspectives were written in the first-person's narrative, while other characters' perspectives were written in the third-person's narrative.

Matthew Tysz's We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a book written in a unique style. A character that fascinated me was Wilhem, the king of Voulhire. A young king saddled with the huge responsibility of ruling a nation with many cities. Despite that his lousy and raunchy chief of staff always interferes with his judgements and decisions sometimes, he is always calm and collected. Always wise enough to know when to say the right things and make the right choices.

There was nothing I disliked about the book and I believed it was exceptionally edited too. Therefore, I will rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I also believe Matthew Tsyz is an amazing writer. I would definitely check out his other books in this series. I would recommend this book to lovers of magical books and fantasies.
