I knew that I was totally into the book after reading just the first two sentences. Don Roberts quickly made me realize just how irresponsible life I have been living so far. For years I have hoped that I would not harm my body and mind while maintaining a poor diet and being sleep deprived on the daily basis. After realizing such an obvious thing, there was no other way for me, but to finish the book. It took me on an amazing journey, thanks to which I learned how to take care of myself (both mentally and physically). Wellness Toolbox shows how popular misconceptions, we tend to believe in, can alter our lives for the worse. Thankfully though, it also provides us with a ton of helpful advice, which we could easily imply into our daily routines, diets, and training plans.

Digging a little bit more into the details, in my personal opinion, the form in which the book is written is super easy to follow. Chapters were brief, but there was no one thing missing in them. Each of them started with a popular statement, that everyone probably has heard at least once throughout their lives. Later on, the author evaluated the statement and judged whether it was a common misconception or a fact. Every declaration made by the author throughout the chapter was followed by the scientific data and even Don's own life examples. This all proved his experience with the discussed topic and his interdisciplinary knowledge. While reading, never have I ever felt like something was off. I totally trusted the author, which is essential in non-fiction books.

Another great benefit was motivational and educative quotes as well as funny (and also in some way educative) comics frames at the end of every chapter. They really did help to visualize the discussed concepts better and made them stick with my mind.

Last but not least, few times throughout the book, Don includes ready workout training plans, tips, reminders, and even grocery lists. I found them very useful, especially when I was trying to imply new healthier things into my daily routine. There is sometimes too much and not precise enough information you can find on the Internet, but thanks to Wellness Toolbox you have it all in one place. You also have a guarantee that it is being prepared by a professional fitness trainer.

Although it seems so far like everything was perfect, I did find one thing that sometimes made it hard to concentrate. As long as I love when the author's statements are being corroborated with scientific data, sometimes there are just too many of those. Difficult language and information overload sometimes caused the content of the paragraph to blur. From time to time it felt a little overwhelming and distracting. The author also uses many scientific phrases which are hard to understand, especially for people from outside the field. In my personal opinion, some of those should have been left out so the text would have been easier to read.

Based on all the things I have already written, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I did not notice any grammar, punctuation, or styling mistakes, and the book in itself was very well edited. Although, scientific language and information overload made it sometimes hard to understand everything clearly by a person from outside the field.

Wellness Toolbox is suitable for all age groups and definitely recommend it to both: people who struggle with maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and those who just want to expand their knowledge on the topic by learning something new or even testing whether the things they already know are true or not.
