The temptation of going on a road trip to find oneself while making the road your home. This is a feeling of being abandoned and looking for comfort in heart all because you need to find yourself. It is an adventure of life itself. David Letterfly Knoderer begins by setting a tone on how he found it not only to be an adventure but also a grand stand before an audience with his beautiful art. He zooms us into the personal story of his life about the play and entertainment of horses in a circus, and how that saved his life. He then concludes on page 235 of chapter 10 with the positive remarks about liberating all his feelings and the feeling of freedom in his heart.

His father found who he was through travelling, and the author mentions how he thought he was looking for who he was but eventually realized that he was looking for his father. Right there we can psychologically detect what we call “The Father Wound: The Absence of a Father”. On the other hand, the indirect father-relationship the story reflects is positive.

In reflection, finding himself is quite not that original of who he would have become maybe if he looked at life not through his father’s lenses. The negative impact it may have in his life is not truly knowing what he could have fallen in love with other than trying to fall in love with what his father loved just to be approved. Speedy: Hurled Through Havoc then reflects a negative effect a parent may have on their children by lording over their dreams to their children. Sometimes leaving a child in solitary confinement as the author mentions on page 42 of chapter 3.

The book deserves 4 out of 4 stars because of the positive content it has about those who are in pursuit of life and finding their real abilities but not neglecting the wisdom of parents.

I would definitely recommend it to those who are still looking to find their God-given talent and the meaning of life.
