Chasing A Flawed Sun by Daniel McGhee – This book captivates from the beginning to the end and has a beautiful encouraging message, a positive message of hope for all in similar situation. It is an amazingly honest story taking you into the underworld of drugs and drug abuse. He shares with the reader how he managed to survive this ordeal. We can all learn from his painful experience and be sympathetic to others in similar situation. It portrayed several life lessons and inspires us never to give up on people. Today Daniel McGee lives a healthy productive life with the support of his family. His message confirms that we are sent into this world to live as explorers and warriors. We will get wounded but God will always console us in times of grief and disappointment. We will go Home with great gratitude that we truly lived.

The following extract from Daniel McGhee’s book - Chasing A Flawed Sun , gives us a rare insight into his desperate life as a drug addict and emphasizes the essence of hope of his message. I was truly touched by his words that came from his refined soul….. “I was a warrior, and I had a message to deliver about the fire I had experienced, the fire that started inside of me and destroyed me, then brought me back to life…the fire that haunted me no more. I laid down that night between cool sheets, in a comfortable bed and slept in a soft, quiet place with a smile on my face, as any victorious warrior would. I slept fearlessly and deep .I had a story to tell. I looked into my own soul, and eventually reached out to God “

The author tells his life story as it is. It is sometimes shocking and disturbing and contains graphic scenes and vulgar language but it is an honest account of his life. Considered the underworld of drugs wherein he lived, the harsh words he sometimes used could be disturbing, but it gives credibility to his story.

This book is rated 3 out of 4 stars . It is well edited. His journey to self discovery and healing was very inspiring and commendable. It is an inspiring book.

I recommend this book for teenage or older readers. It is an inspirational book useful to other addicts and their families.
