Clara is an aspiring nurse who is selfless and kind to her patients, living in Ohio with her family and their farm. Despite her worries of marrying her fiancé jasper she is having her best of life being a nurse until she receives a message from her brother Samuel about his illness, requesting her presence with him. Leaving jasper, her family and her patients behind she heads to panama alone without a helping hand foreseeing the treatment of her brother at deaths door. In panama she encounters several deaths, tropical diseases, unsafe working conditions, lack of resources for hospitals and several other problem which needed an answer. Amidst all this she gains relationships with Dr Gorgas, Amelia, and Elijah. Together they have a war to fight.

A wonderful story about hardship, survival and struggle which describes Clara's life in panama and her struggle for the people working for the canal.

Clara's way by Roberta.R.Carr is a historical fiction book with a dominant female character. The positive fact about this books is how enlightened is the author for writing such a beautiful story of hardship about the people working for the canal. I cant praise her enough for the details she emphasized to write the emotion behind the people.

The only negative aspect about the book which I felt is some of the elements in the book had no proper closure leaving the readers awry. Excluding this, there are more positive factors which was executed well making this negative negligible.

Overall Clara's story was exciting, reviving and challenging at the same time. I couldn't find more than 5 errors as it is professionally edited so I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book is wonderfully written and I think it requires greater audience than it already have.
