Review of Speedy hurled through havoc
The book speedy hurled through havoc entails a life story of the author, Dave Letterfly Knoderer. The book illustrates how the author was inspired by his father at a young age to become a circus man. Through the combination of stories written in this book, one is able to appreciate the life situations which helped in shaping the author into the successful man he became. Because of lack of attention and unappreciative behavior from his father, and the weird behavior of his brother, he decided to withdraw from home and join the circus. Joining the circus was the best decision he made, because this helped him to find the true purpose of his life.
The journey to self discovery was never easy, however, through the help and influence of others like Brownie Silverlake, Hayes Ganiard, Bob Grubb, and Charlie Tuna, just to mention a few, he was able to learn many things that contributed to his success. Well known is the use of an airbrush. Betty the Mule also impacted greatly in his life, as he was able to learn some valuable lessons through their interaction. From circus drumboy, to horsemanship, then a successful airbrush artist. The book covers it all.
What I like most about the book, is how the author is able to describe the scenarios in this book, like the circus shows and the tools he used in painting, most notably, the airbrush. Reading through the clear descriptions, made me feel like I was watching the circus shows on a big screen, without missing a detail. Hence, this brought a sense of joy and excitement in me. The life lessons drawn in this book, helped me to appreciate many things even in my personal life.
Adding some pictures in the book could have been more appealing and fun to the reader. However, the descriptions of the scenes, and the explanations did quite a good job. The way some characters have been at first introduced and not describe, left me hanging. However, this seems to have been done Internationally as at the end, all the characters and stories have been well explained.
I am happy to have read the book. To some extent, my soul was uplifted. Finding a few typo errors, the book seems to have been well edited. However I could not have rated it any higher than 3 out of 4 stars.
I therefore, recommend this book to an appreciative and patient audience. Those that love nonfiction, inspirational stories may also find their way in this book.
