[Following is a volunteer review of "Demon Freaks" by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison.]
Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison was a book of action, psychic energy, adventure, and friendship. Bing Slaughter and Ron Slaughter are twin brothers in a music band. Prathamesh Kimitri, also called Meat, is a drummer. Kaitlyn Krimpsen is a keyboard player. The four friends decided to prepare for their SAT exam, which was about to happen the next day in the morning. Kaitlyn was on her way while Bing and Ron already arrived at Meat's house. The evening was stormy, and the three boys noticed someone in the backyard. It was none other than their history teacher Brom with a dagger, which got a soul inside it. With the Servants of Darkness chasing them, the dagger intruded Meat's mind and made him go to Golfer's association. The three friends, along with Brom, followed him through. While trying to save Meat, Kaitlyn got caught. Both Meat and Kaitlyn were captured by Golfers, the enemies of Servants of Darkness, for a sacrificial ceremony to summon a demon. Against all odds, Bing and Ron were trying to save them. As the story unfolds, many mysteries unravel. Will Bing and Ron save their friends? Will they be able to stop the summoning ritual?
The author used the third person point of view to tell the entire story, and it made me feel like I was witnessing the complete story in front of me. The author's style of writing was simple and understandable. Every character had a fair role to play in the story. I loved how the author portrayed twin bonding and friendship.
I cannot think of anything that I disliked about the book. Although the book contains nudity, it was not sexualized.
I rate the book Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison 4 out of 4 stars. The storyline was so interesting that it kept my attention till the end of the story. This book is a page-turner. There was only one error that came to my notice, so I can conclude that this book was professionally proofread and well-edited. This book contains profanity.
I'd recommend the book Demon Freaks by J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison for mature teens, adults, and old adults. I suggest this book to people who love to read books based on demons and psychic energies. Furthermore, this book would be a good read for people who love action sequences. I felt like some part of the book was horror-filled, so I would also recommend this book for horror fans.
