I have always asked myself, can I find a book that would contain suspense, comedy and tragedy. Luckily for me, I came across the book, Arsenic and Old Men by Glenn Ickler. This book is the perfect definition of a well-written book.

Dave and his friends had to travel fourteen hundred miles from Minnesota to Martha's Vineyard where they were to meet Mr Walt's lawyer, Mr Dick. Mr Dick tells Dave about his uncle's will and what he stands to inherit as the only living relative. Dave also learns that his uncle had died of a heart attack and was found dead on a couch by his maid. However, things take a new turn when the autopsy result reveals that his uncle was poisoned. Dave and his friends soon become homeless as their house is declared a crime scene. Who would have poisoned his uncle and why would someone want to do that? Grab a copy of this suspense-filled book to find out.

This book was carefully and incredibly written by the author. He wrote the book with a good sense of humour, and also made sure the book was suspense-filled. I couldn't take my eyes off the book till I was done. The plot in the book was realistic. The scene was well detailed and well developed. I found Detective Gouveia very annoying. Although he was doing his job, I saw him as a bully. I also felt bad when Old Teddy died. It is funny how people would kill just for money. I would say that the greatest problem of mankind is greed. If there is no greed and religious war the world would be a peaceful place. The characters in this book were well developed.

There is nothing to be disliked about the book, the author did a great job. The author despite telling the story from Mitch's point of view didn't make him the protagonist, which I found very interesting. The author also painted a vivid picture of the book in my mind, with his style of writing. I think this book would be nice for a movie adaptation. I must also commend his style of writing, I read the book with ease.

I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors in the book. This shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I can't wait to read other books from this author. I would recommend this book to people who love reading about crime thrillers

Detectives are quite annoying with their job but this is unavoidable. Thanks for the review. I would love to read this book
