[Following is a volunteer review of "Stop Doubting Yourself: Stop Overthinking and Start Living. Finding Freedom in 7 Effortless, Uncomplicated Steps" by GJ Malone.]
Stop Doubting Yourself: Stop Overthinking and Start Living. Finding Freedom in 7 Effortless, Uncomplicated Steps by GJ Malone is a great book that focuses on self-improvement and discloses pretty much everything, big and small, that might cause an individual to have self-doubt, self-defeating behaviors and self-doubt. The author also gives step by step guide and practical relatable examples that one could follow to conquer all these aspects so as to enable one to live a happy and fulfilling life, with one's goals and plans in mind.
I found the book very amazing and incredible. I was very emotional as I went through the book because I felt like GJ Malone was talking to me despite not having met initially. I in fact found almost everything in the book relatable, and I would find myself laughing, nodding or agreeing with whatever questions the author posed. It was really an incredible adventure reading a book, seeing my situations as I go along, and receiving guidance and tips on how to tackle and confront each obstacle. There are also lots of activities that the reader is required to carry out and working on these different tasks helps one really plan their loves and have a clear sense of purpose and focus. To add on that, I can say that the book is literally a therapy in itself. This is so from the great tips and advice that GJ Malone gives, as well as some of the insights on how to best work through different experiences. The author holds the reader by the hand from start to finish, and I felt like I was in the presence of the author. Another great aspect I appreciate about the book is the summaries given at the end of each chapter. They help to remind the reader of what has been tackled and they are really important in helping gauge what one recalls. There is also another great summary of the whole book towards that end and I really found it helpful as well. Additionally, the book was well edited and had a great flow.
I didn't see any negative aspects in the book as everything was to my liking and very insightful.
As for the rating, I gladly give this book a 4 out of 4. I rate it this way because honestly, the book has helped me come to a different state of mind and come to a realization of plenty of concepts and ultimate reality that I had no idea of. It has really helped me address some different challenges I have faced over years, it has helped me build up my confidence and most importantly, helped me learn to appreciate myself for big or small wins. Additionally, through the book, I have learnt of many things that will aid in my growth as an individual, and even help others that need help in similar areas. I have learnt that the subconscious mind is a great part of us and whatever we feed into it will be there for a long time, so we should aim for positive thoughts.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to seek inspiration, better their lives or just wants a different positive perspective towards approaching life. If you feel like you doubt everything in life, you're scared to take action or you have lots of negative thoughts in your mind, this book will give you a reason to keep pushing and look at life differently and much clearer.
