Diamond and Pearls by Julien Ayotte is a crime thriller novel that leaves you nervous while reading. It is a novel that encompasses crime, love, and intelligence. It has 268 pages and 28 chapters.

Manuel and Consuelo Ortiz got married in 1939. Manual worked as a diver who looked for pearls, while his wife worked as a housekeeper for Enrique Sosa, the owner of the island pearl company. Manuel, before his death, gifted his wife a pearl necklace, which he hoped she would pass on to their daughter, Veronica. Veronica, before her death, did the needful by passing down this necklace to her daughter, Joyce. However, while away at dinner, someone breaks into their house and makes away with the necklace. The burglar had gotten help from the inside from someone who wasn't an insider. How possible was this, and who could the burglar possibly be? Grab a copy of this book to find out.

I have read so many crime thrillers, but not often does a book make me think this way. The author of this book is a very intelligent writer. Drew Diamond was a widower who worked as the agent for the insurance company trying to avoid a huge payout of $100,000. Garrett is a jewellery store owner who had purchased stolen jewellery from Sydney. Sydney was a real estate agent who also broke into people's homes and stole from them. However, the lives of these people somehow move around a circle; they unconsciously get into each other's lives without knowing.

There was nothing to hate about this book. The book was suspense-filled. This book made me recall a movie I saw years ago. At some point, I felt as though the author was drifting, but this only made the twists in the plot more interesting. The author did a lot of research before putting this book together. The characters in this book were well-developed and well-described. The author's vocabulary usage was also simple. The plot was very realistic. The romantic twist in the novel made the book more intriguing. Beyond the crime story, this is also a story of redemption.

I'm rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors in this book. This shows that it was exceptionally well-edited. I can't wait to read other books by this author. I would like to recommend this book to people who love reading crime thrillers.
