Tom, William, and William’s daughter Myra are packing their gears to go on a hike where Tom wanted to tend his grandfather Bob-Bob’s grave and return something that he took years ago. Suddenly they heard a knock on the door and come face to face with Tom’s granddaughter Sarah. Tom didn’t have any idea that he has a granddaughter and now they are facing the question of whether leave for the hike or not. Tom’s friend William suggests that they should take Sarah with them and continue the plan. The next day they are on their way to the planned hike, but will they be able to do the hike as per their plan or destiny has her own plan for them? Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon is a book that evokes different emotions within you. The story is captivating and the writer has woven the story around the Native Americans, the history of humankind, and a difficult relationship between grandfather and granddaughter who were unaware of each other existence before this trip. The story beautifully shows the different human sides and how sometimes situation guides us and how we are not in control of everything that happens to us.

I love reading this book and thoroughly enjoy the ups and downs that Tom and his friends face while first going on a hike, their searching for Sarah when she goes missing for a week, and the mystery behind her reappearance. The dialogue between Sarah and Myra “this is the land of Magic, Mystery, and Legends” is my favorite and creates this magical aura around the story. The story tells another story without creating confusion and keeps the suspense going on till the end. The story depicts the geography, history, and imagination of the author so beautifully and shows how deeply the author researched before writing the book.

There is nothing that you won’t love about this book, but keep a dictionary or Google handy while reading because the book contains lots of details that the reader might need help understanding.

The book offers you a good read and gives nice details about how humankind survives before the modern man. It is a good combination of history, imagination, and research and deserves four out of four stars.

This book is for everyone who is interested in reading something different yet intriguing. The story keeps you hanging till you reach the end and gives you a different perspective about dreams, legends, and mysteries.
