Joe Calderwood is an author who knows how to write an exciting story, and he's done just that with Money Faucet. Clint Kennedy is a money-laundering adrenaline junkie who also happens to be somewhat of a philanthropist. He makes a small fortune laundering money for a number of different drug lords in Mexico. It is with this money that he was able to open a school benefiting the less fortunate Mayan children he lives near. So while he is a criminal, he considers himself a good person.

One day Clint gets a phone call from Jack, his best friend and honorary brother. Jack's father, David, is in hospital after having a stroke. This is extremely upsetting to Clint as David is basically his father too as he took him in when he was a child. After the call, Clint flies down to Miami to be with the family.

Once Clint gets to Miami, his life gets even crazier. A friend of his is killed, leaving him to plan the funeral as well as take care of his friend's grandfather. Jack's brother who is in prison threatens to expose the 'family business' after recieving some news he's not happy with, putting even more stress on Clint. While dealing with all of this, Clint receives a phone call from his boss, Pablo, telling him to steer clear of Mexico until further notice as there are the beginnings of a drug war.

I found this book to be an extremely exciting read. Every page I read made me look forward to the next one. I thoroughly enjoyed Joe's writing as everything I read felt significant and there was nothing there that felt like it was there just to fill space. I really appreciated Joe's ability to write a complex character such as Clint. We know that Clint is a criminal yet we can't help rooting for him because he is so likeable. One thing that adds to his likeability is the fact that he has heaps of illegal money, but he is using some of it to help better people's lives.

I really like that Joe develops his characters enough that you can understand them to a certain extent and you're not left with questions as to who they are. I actually enjoyed this book so much that while writing this review, I couldn't think of anything negative to say about it.

While I'm not a big crime/thriller fan, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I found that it was very well edited which added to my enjoyment. After finding out that there are more books in this series, I am very much looking forward to reading them. I was very interested in the book from the beginning and I couldn't wait to carry on reading. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

As a result of the strong language in this book as well as dark themes such as drugs, violence and murder, I would not recommend this book to younger or more sensitive readers. However, I would highly recommend it to fans of a fantastic crime thriller.
