Mister Pushkin is a unique Russian blue cat that looks more like a jaguar cub than a cat. He eats nothing except salmon and milk four times a day, and hates going to the vet. He may be the only cat that enjoys watching fireworks. Mister Pushkin is not just intelligent like every cat, but has a strong sense of right and wrong and can keep a grudge.

Mister Pushkin Turns Over a New Leaf is a book containing short stories about some antics of Mister Pushkin. In this book, he did many things, but he did them for a reason. One time, he broke the window and jumped down from the apartment a floor up or higher, to save a cat from certain death in the garbage truck. Another time, he flushed a troublesome squirrel down the water closet.

There were many things I liked about this book. The author, AC Michael, wrote it in simple, easy to follow language that made the book easy to read. The book's easy language is appropriate for its intended audience. I liked how the author broke the book into short, independent stories instead of a long full story. This means a child can easily read one episode or story at a time and not get bored as he might with a long narration. I liked the stories very much. My favourite story is the one in which Mister Pushkin planned and executed an entire strategy to get rid of his leash so he could get back at the birds that liked to bully him. It was very impressive how he went about the whole thing; he even exercised to get himself in shape. I also enjoyed reading the famous quotes at the end of the book and Mister Pushkin's cheeky responses to each of them.

There was nothing I disliked about the book. The editor did a great job and there were no grammatical or typographical errors.

For the reasons mentioned above, I give this book four out of four stars. It is a perfect book for children of 8 to 13 years, especially those who love reading about animals. I would also recommend it to older readers who love cats and perhaps have cats of their own. Younger children who love cats but cannot read can also have the book read to them a short story at a time. Anyone who wants a light read will enjoy it.

It seems like cat characters are getting really popular lately, and it doesn't surprise me: they're amazing animals. Mister Puskin must be a stimulating read for children. Thank you for the review!

I’m not a lover of cats so I won’t be reading this. I have noticed that many children’s authors use animals in their writing. The use of them must keep kids’ attention.

Ah, a cat who keeps a grudge is dangerous indeed. His motivation for getting back at those birds must have been great to get him exercizing--he doesn't seem like the type who would engage in such activities. :cat:
Thank you for your delightful take on this Mister Pushkin read!

The age bracket keeps me from reading Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf. Still, I think it would be fun to check out the antics that the cat does.

You did an amazing job of summarizing the plot and main character of the book in a way that really captures the reader's attention. I'm intrigued by Sabrina's journey and I can't wait to find out what happens with her and Daniel.

This sounds like a good children's book, especially for animal lovers. However, I'm not sure this is for me, so I'll pass on it. Thanks for your review.
