Just about everyone has had some encounter with wine. Whether you drink it, use it for religious purposes or use it to impress your guests. But have you taken the time to explore how wine is made? Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France by Michael C. Higgins, PhD, is a hands-on research into one of the best places on earth. The author explores Bordeaux, giving us an extensive tour and making great recommendations. Whether you are a wine lover or not, this is a very informative book to read.

The book has a classy and elegant feel to it. The author includes beautiful pictures taken with his own camera. I must commend his attention to detail. Not only did we get a lesson on the history of winemaking, but we were introduced to many of the entertainment Bordeaux had to offer. I liked that the author provided the address and opening hours of many restaurants in the area. The book looked like a colourful historic magazine, which made it worth reading.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. It was well-written and seemed to be professionally edited. We are educated on the history and way of life of the inhabitants of that region of France. We are told about the annual events such as Bordeaux Rock in January and International Wine Challenge, which is the oldest wine competition in France. According to the author, there is a lot to do and enjoy if you choose to visit Bordeaux, France.

My favourite part of the book was learning about the different historic sights, and all the processes wine has to go through before reaching my glass. I had no idea it was such a meticulous process. This book deserves the full rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Even persons who don't like reading will enjoy this book. The vibrant pictures tell a story of their own. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words and there is a whole gallery in this book.

Exploring Wine Regions – Bordeaux France is not only for wine lovers but also for travellers. Anyone would enjoy this book. If you would like to educate yourself on the elegant process of winemaking, this is a great place to start. In conclusion, this is an entertaining, well-researched book. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of Bordeaux, France. I could just imagine myself staying at one of the luxurious hotels. This book lifted my spirits and piqued my interest. The author did a lovely job.

I don't like travelling and so I think this book is not suitable for me as recommended in your review. Again, my course does not go in line with wine making. However, this does not mean that I disliked the book. Thanks for your feedback about the book.
