Falling in love with someone you know you can't have was the situation Savannah found herself in. Alfonso an handsome flamenco guitarist desperate to make down payment for an apartment his wife (Isabel) likes, takes a portrait he inherited from his Abuelita after her death to an art lecture held in honor of Picasso a great Spanish artist to find out what this painting was worth. Alfonso believed this painting was one of Picasso's work. During this lecture, Savannah one of the art lecturers who knew so much about Picasso's work gives a captivating lecture on Picasso's art work. At the end of the art lecture, Alfonso approaches Savannah and tells her about his Abuelita's portrait. She eventually decides to look at it and tell him its worth. This was how their love story began.
What would have been the greatest love story of all time gets complicated causing this two lovers to split. After 26years they find their way back to each other's life but things didn't turn out well. Will Savannah and Alfonso be able to resurrect this old love they thought they had already lost? Does true love always prevail?

Midwinter Turns To Spring by Maria Veloso is a thrilling love story with enough twist, and content to keep you on edge. The author Maria Veloso, perfectly captured what happens when you find true love. In this book, you find two lovers who thought they were destined to be together caught in a dilemma. Savannah not wanting to make Alfonso's little girl, Christina grow up without a father just like her, despite the fact that she was madly in love with Alfonso was stuck between choosing herself or choosing her love for Alfonso.

This book is definitely a go-to for both male and female readers, 16 and older who enjoy romantic, exciting love story with meaningful lessons. It contains facts and detailed descriptions on art, music, medicine, Spanish culture (Malaga) and the spiritual.

I definitely enjoyed reading it because the characters were real, you can literally feel everything happening in the story just by reading it and there were new things to learn. However, I didn't like the fact that too many things were going on in just one chapter (flashback, thinking) at the beginning of the book which made it tiring at first. But the story was intriguing so I had to finish it.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 . At the beginning I already thought I knew how the story would end since there was a narrator, but there were lots of twist and I had to read till the end to see how it ended.
