Review of Backcomb & Tattoo

[Following is a volunteer review of "Backcomb & Tattoo" by Shea R Embry.]
This book was everything mind blowing. The concept of friendship between the 4 women irrespective of their age gaps and lifestyle is why I rated it 4 out of 4 stars.
There’s a very good story line.
The way all the women met by sheer luck and helped each other through their difficulties.
This age really needs friendships like that.
Rachel and her free personality, Aunty Mary Opal with her aging body and ever-young mind, Jesi with the way she went through life with happiness and Nicole the sceptical friend that ended up bonding to the others like glue.
The author “Shea R. Embry” did a wonderful job weaving their lives together. I look forward to more of her books
The positive aspect of this book is their friendship, I can’t stress it enough. The love, cheerfulness, support, unspoken respect, open heart and care is top notch. Normally, there were arguments but the fact that those arguments didn’t break the friendships goes to show a beautiful thing in their friendship.
The negative aspect personally was their willingness to support Aunty Mary Opal’s choice of suicide. For me, I’d never think suicide is an option. That aspect is actually encouraging people going through a hard time to think of suicide as a way out. It’s not alright.
I rated it 4 out of 4 stars. If anything, I would read this book over and over just to remind myself of the beautiful things about friendships and bonds. The beautiful things about family even because the 4 women cared for each other like family.
This book should target teenagers, middle aged people and the old people. Teenage people so they can cherish their friendships and produce something sweet and lovely out of it. Middle aged people so they may feel the need to reconnect with the sweet people around them because once people are around that age, there’s a tendency to disconnect from friends in order to focus more on other aspects of their lives . Lastly the old people do they may be able to remember the sweet memories of youthfulness and appreciate it (they will even consider reaching out to their old friends or creating new friendships)
