Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants written by Caleb J. Boyer follows Ryan and Matthew, two childhood friends, wake up on a remote island's beach, scarcely awake and with no memory of how they got there. Together they must accomplish obstacles on the treacherous island in order to get food, water, and some mystery keys.
A struggle for survival awaits them, as they navigate the island's many unexpected turns. To overcome various hurdles, the boys must be smart, resilient, and most importantly, cooperative.

Very nicely written, as you witness the characters evolve and progress as they confront new challenges. I suppose this may also be applied to our own lives, as we all have problems from time to time that we must conquer in order to achieve, whether on our own or with the help of someone else, such as a friend or support network. In any case, we should not avoid the problem, but rather tackle it full-on. I really appreciated how you got to experience the two distinct points of view throughout the book, which added depth and clarity and allowed you to get to understand both people and their emotions on a different level. Furthermore, the snarky dialogue between the characters provided comedy to the plot.

I did get that feeling at the conclusion of the book was a little rushed. I felt the ending to be rather anticlimactic. However, I did like the authors input at the end where he uses metaphors to describe the book, which made me understand the book more. Other than this there was nothing about the book that I did not like. Also, I could not find any errors, which means it has been edited well.

The author's description of the book was amazing. It helped me to see the details in my thoughts more and had me on the edge of my seat for longer than anticipated. For this reason, I am going to award this book 4 out of 4 stars.

This book is best suited for adolescent, teenage, and even adult readers who love action-packed adventures, mystery/ survival stories. The narrative is based on the author's 12-year-old fantasy. The author made an excellent effort to create a book bursting with positive messages and likeable characters. I hope he continues writing as I really enjoyed this book and would love to read other books by Caleb in the future or even a sequel to Island Games.
