The book The Bird Ride by Wade W. Bergner is a very sweet kids’ book. Reading the story opens up conversations about unconditional love, and what it means to be positive. It takes you on a journey to discover emotions that are soft and positive. It's a journey based on a bird's eye view. The little boy and the bird fly over the town. They observe the colors generated by various activities that people were doing.

I liked the part where the little boy indicates that choosing one pleasant thought over a negative thought, would change the attitude of an angry person. In so many ways, adults and kids need to adapt that in their daily lives. The story points out that, there is so much positive energy where there is love and excitement. When we conditionally love, it makes life dull and gloomy.

There was nothing I did not like about the book. Wade W. Bergner had written the book so that a young child can easily grasp and implement the concept.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it focuses on how we can better ourselves. It’s thought-provoking for a child. It creates awareness of how important it is to be kind to one another, unconditionally. I also liked the discussion questions that were at the end of the book. It helps a child truly understand the importance of having a positive stance in life. The pictures were catchy, and it was well-written.

The book is recommended for kids between 3 to 8 years of age. Towards the end, the little boy has a rock named Gratitude in his pocket. It’s something we all can keep, as a gentle reminder, when life gets tough.
The book is well-edited, and there were no errors in the book.
