[Following is a volunteer review of "Love, Grandma" by Ann Morris.]
Do you need to find a book for a child? This is perfect for those who want a beautiful, heartwarming poem about the love between grandparents and their grandchildren.
Love, Grandma by Ann Morris is written in the form of a poem. It explores the various activities that a grandma enjoys with her grandchildren, Haley and Payton. They bake, do makeovers, play with buttons, etc. It is a short read, but it leaves a lasting warmth.
Firstly, I love the illustrations on every page. They are lively and aesthetically pleasing. The colourful pictures would also easily capture a child’s attention. Secondly, the rhyming couplets would be entertaining for a child and easy to grasp. Thirdly, the various antics of the children felt very authentic. The childish spirit of the children has been beautifully captured and expressed. Fourthly, this is a wonderful book to remind us of the love we have for our grandparents. Fifthly, the vocabulary used in this book is simple enough for children to understand. It is also used in unique ways that would improve a child's understanding of language. Finally, this is also the perfect book for children who are bored. There are numerous ideas for activities to try out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I can only find one negative feature about this book. This book may make some children feel conscious about the number of toys they have. Some of the illustrations depict mountains of stuffed animals. This may make some children envious. It may also add pressure on the parents to buy more toys.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was a touching and cute poem. I believe that it was perfectly edited, as I found no errors.
I would recommend this book to children over the age of 5. This book has a beautiful theme that would be perfect to introduce to children. This is also a good read for people looking for something to thaw their hearts.
