Red Wave Imperative by Alan Schein is a politically charged book written in 2018. The author of this book, a staunch Republican, argues his case on why Americans should vote for Trump, who is a Republican. Donald Trump, who became the 45th president of the United States of America, became very popular for his aggressive tweets and went to war with many media houses. The author tries to inform us why the idea of socialism advocated by the Democrats will cripple the American economy and plunge it into debt like never seen before.

It is crucial to note that political discussions are very touchy subjects, that will often cause heated discussions among different people. Everyone believes in their opinion. As a leader, it becomes difficult to please everyone and their expectations from their leaders. Alan suggests that the American people should follow a Roman-based system that has been successful in Singapore. This system allows the citizens to vote for one political party that governs them and administers all state affairs until they deem them incompetent. The system has proven to be justifiable since Singapore is among the safest and drug-free cities in the world.

What I loved the most about this book was how simple and understandable it is. I often find political matters such a bore, but this book was very enlightening and persuasive. I was not well versed with the dangers of a socialist economy, but I feel informed and intrigued to go and do in-depth research on this matter. The author has also given examples to his claim, which offered a compelling case, although some have not substantiated. The references at the end of the book are also very thoughtful since someone can click on them and gain more knowledge. The author has also discussed crucial topics like equal pay for women, nuclear proliferation, immigration, climate change, school safety, and the war on terrorism.

However, I have to disapprove of how the author has overpraised the Republicans. He made them appear as if they were at no fault. This makes the Republicans seem untrustworthy. Despite the initial purpose of writing the book being to try and influence Americans to vote for Trump, any reader should not disregard reading it now. A lot can be learned from this book, regardless of the readers' political affiliations.

I would rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because the author has presented a very persuasive argument. I would recommend this book to an audience that enjoys political matters, especially those based on American politics.

There has definitely been a wider chasm between the political parties than ever before. However, I think the answer lies in compromise between the parties, with the leaders doing what is in the best interest of the nation and not for themselves or their party. For example, one only has to look at the Republican's stance on climate change to see that they are not perfect. I can find things that both sides stand for that I believe in, but neither side is ideal by itself. Donald Trump is certainly not what's best for our country. I don't think this book is for me. Thanks for an informative and interesting review!
