Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have been topics of discussion for the past few years. There is a lot of information and misinformation throughout the internet on it. In addition to that, the sheer hype around cryptocurrencies has resulted in a lot of confusion and cynicism. This lack of clarity on crypto has led to many individuals shooting arrows in the dark. Bitcoin Answered by Jon Law is an attempt at making one understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are in a fairly simple manner. It answers most of the commonly asked questions relating to Bitcoin and cryptos in general.

There are a lot of things to like about this book. Firstly, it is very comprehensive. Most of the aspects relating to Bitcoin and cryptos are explained quite well. Secondly, it is in a question-and-answer format, making the information in the book very well-organised. The format makes the content easier to follow. Thirdly, the author has tried his level best to explain complex concepts in a fairly simple manner with the help of loose analogies. This helps readers who lack technical knowledge in this field to get a fair understanding of the world of cryptos. Fourthly, the frequent use of diagrams makes it easier to visualise the network and technology operations. Lastly, the book has been edited exceptionally well.

There is nothing much to dislike about the book. Nonetheless, I do have an observation to make. This is a beginner's guide where the author has tried simplifying crypto to make it easier to understand. Even without the technical knowledge, the readers would get a pretty good idea of what crypto is. However, having a basic idea of the technicalities of networking technology and economics would help one understand the book better.

I would confidently rate this book 4 out of 4. It is comprehensive, easy to understand and short. It answers most of the common queries people tend to have regarding Bitcoin and crypto. It is an ideal book to start with when on the journey of knowing about the world of crypto. It provides a good base on which the reader may further build upon by referring to other more detailed sources.

I would recommend it to anyone interested in cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, networking, finance and trading. It is a good starter book. It is very comprehensive, though not exhaustive. However, it is essential to keep in mind that the content of this book is not to be interpreted as financial advice. It is simply a guidebook on crypto.
