[Following is a volunteer review of "Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula" by R.F. Kristi.]
Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the type of book that any parent could feel comfortable giving their children to read. It is most appropriate for kindergarteners and is a very soothing read as a bedtime story.
This book, like many before it, follows the tale of Inca. However, unlike the other books, this one follows her through the Korean peninsula. Inca, the detective cat, and her team strike again. Will they succeed this time? Their mother takes them on a business trip to South Korea, and now they are tasked with the responsibility of saving her from sabotage. However, this is not all they have to do, as Korea provides them with more detective work. Please read this book to discover how a team of pets goes about solving their problems.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was suspenseful and engaging. I believe it has all that is required to keep a child's attention. It is a short read, like most children's books. It did not contain too much technical information, and it was educational. I also like how the author also tried to educate the readers about the setting, South Korea in this case. I also liked the characters' uniqueness and how the plot came together at a steady pace.
There is not much to complain about when it comes to R.F. Kristi's writing style. She knows what her audience loves, and she does that very well. She satisfies children's inquisitive nature, educates her audience, and takes them on an exploration trip. She does this with such expertise that puts her among the best writers. In this book, Kristi has given me absolutely nothing to dislike.
This excellence deserves a rating to match, and that rating is a 4 out of 4 stars. I found absolutely no errors in this book.
