[Following is a volunteer review of "Rough Way to the High Way" by Kelly Mack McCoy.]
Robert "Mack" McClain has just lost his wife. Police ruled her death as a suicide, but Mack doesn't believe it. His wife, Georgia, would never kill herself, no Georgia was killed. Mack decides he doesn't want to pastor anymore, instead, he sells everything and buys a Peterbilt truck. He decides he's going to be a long haul trucker, and maybe along the way, find his wife's killer. He may just help a Ranger solve more than one case.
Rough Way to the High Way by Kelly Mack McCoy was full of action and adventure. From the beginning to the end, there was something going on. You also meet quite a few quirky characters. The hitchhiker to the waitress and the Texas Ranger, you were never bored. The book did a good job at keeping you guessing to whereabouts of the man Mack was looking for. I really appreciated that there was plenty of action, but there wasn't any cursing or inappropriate content. There was also mention of God.
I really don't have any negative aspects to say about this book. I can't stand reading a book and all you see are errors, but with this book, I didn't see any. Mr.McCoy did a wonderful job of getting those edited.
I definitely give Rough Way to the High Way a four out of four. It has plenty of fun and action. Some of the characters were funny, and some you disliked with a passion. Even with the action, it did have some sentimental parts to it too. You really felt for Mack, and his loss of Georgia. The loss of the love they shared. You definitely root for Mack the whole way.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone. If you like to laugh, and you like adventure and action packed pages, then this book is for you. If you like reading a book but don't like seeing curse words everywhere, this book is for you. If you like a book that mentions God, then this book is for you. If you like a book that has a little mystery and guessing, then this book is for you.
